CPP on Demand

  • Career Progression Programme (CPP)

Stay ahead of the business events curve

You are not the only person in the world doing the job that you do. As more people advance further in their field, industry working standards start to rise when giving promotions, pay rises and general jobs. If you don’t have the sufficient training that a newcomer would likely have, then your professional days may be numbered.

You are aware of the changing trends and directions in your profession. The pace of change is probably faster than it’s ever been – and this is a feature of the new normal that we live and work in. If you stand still, you will get left behind, as the currency of your knowledge and skills becomes out-dated.

As a result, Meetings magazine in partnership with ibtm africa and ibtm inspire have put together a unique Career Progression Programme (CPP) that will help you stay up to date with information and trends that are crucial to event planners. Knowledge is power – the more you know about your role, the business you work for and its practices, the more valuable you are as an employee and team member.

  • What are the benefits?

    The programme will:

    • ensure your capabilities keep pace with the current standards of others in the same field
    • ensure that you maintain and enhance the knowledge and skills you need to deliver a professional service to your clients
    • ensure that you and your knowledge stay relevant and up to date
    • help you to stay interested and interesting. The programme will open you up to new possibilities, new knowledge and new skill areas.

  • How it works

From the March/April edition of Meetings, the magazine will publish two articles linked to the CPP programme. These articles will be written by professionals, for professionals. Once registered participants have read the articles, they will be required to take an online test to demonstrate that they have understood the subject matter. From April 2017 to March 2018, participants need to accumulate 36 points. Each article carries 3 points and participants that attend ibtm africa will automatically get 6 points to kick-start the programme.

All successful participants will receive a certificate at the end of programme.
